DERISI RACING Prevails at Big Buck GNCC
CASAR, NC, April 16, 2012 – Round 4, the VP Racing Big Buck GNCC in Union, SC, was full of success for DeRisi Racing as 7 out of 8 team riders landed top five finishes. The newest addition to the team, Carter Kerens, had an unfortunate mechanical problem which only allowed him to make one lap. He is looking forward to the next race in Kentucky to show his true potential in the 90 Open (8-11) class. The next team rider to take a run at the dusty track was Kylie Ahart. Kylie had a slight collision with another rider off the start, but quickly rebounded and fought hard to eventually finish 4th in the elite Women’s class.
XC1 Pro rider, Bryan Cook, proved that he is getting increasingly comfortable on his Honda as he secured a 5th place overall finish. XC2 ProAm riders, Eric Hoyland and Braden Henthorn, would again land their DeRisi Hondas on the podium. For the second race in a row, Eric took the early lead and maintained a comfortable gap over the rest of the field. Fortunately, he was able to avoid any mistakes this race and took his first win of the season. Braden, the winner of Round 3, closed to within 8 seconds of his teammate at the finish, earning the 2nd position in XC2
Brycen Neal hit the track with a fierce hunger to win after minor mechanical gremlins slowed him at the two previous rounds. Brycen led every lap to win his second race of the season in College A. He was also the Top Amateur for the race with a 14th place overall finish, which allowed him the opportunity to get on the podium to thank his sponsors and supporters.
David Reeves also notched his second win of the season by making a last lap pass for the 1st position in Junior A. David now holds the points lead after four rounds of racing. James Reeves showed his continued improvement by finishing a season best 4th in Junior A. James now sits 5th in championship points.
