Team DeRisi Racing joined the GNCC racing family for the final race of the season at the historic Loretta Lynn’ Ranch. Each team rider showed up confident and ready to battle it out in the hills of Hurricane Mills, TN. With class championships on the line, it proved to be a trying, yet successful weekend of racing.
Team DeRisi Racing joined over 10,000 other racers and spectators at the infamous Ironman GNCC in Crawfordsville, IN. Round 12 of the series greeted racers with nasty mud holes, deep water crossings, and the toughest hill climbs that they have encountered all season. Team DeRisi was prepared for the challenge and anxious to chalk up a few more wins.
Braden Henthorn has found himself in a fierce battle for the XC2 Pro Am Championship. Heading into this race, he was holding 2nd in points and was looking for a win to close the gap on the leader. Braden had a good start and quickly found himself inside the top five. On lap 3, Braden took over the lead and began to gap the field. He continued to ride smart and went on to win his fourth race of the season. Braden now holds the XC2 points lead by six points going into the final round.
CASAR, NC, April 16, 2012 – Round 4, the VP Racing Big Buck GNCC in Union, SC, was full of success for DeRisi Racing as 7 out of 8 team riders landed top five finishes. The newest addition to the team, Carter Kerens, had an unfortunate mechanical problem which only allowed him to make one lap. He is looking forward to the next race in Kentucky to show his true potential in the 90 Open (8-11) class. The next team rider to take a run at the dusty track was Kylie Ahart. Kylie had a slight collision with another rider off the start, but quickly rebounded and fought hard to eventually finish 4th in the elite Women’s class.
CASAR, NC, April 11, 2012 – DeRisi Racing is excited to announce the addition of youth racer Carter Kerens to the team. While DeRisi Racing has been busy expanding their GNCC Race support efforts, the importance of a youth rider was noted. Carter is currently competing in the 90 Open (8-11) class in the GNCC series where he won his class and finished 2nd overall at Round 3. DeRisi Racing and Rath Racing have decided to join in an effort to support the up and coming racer with hopes of supporting more youth racers in the future. Look for the new team member this weekend at the VP Racing Big Buck GNCC in Union, SC.
